For anyone already in or getting into User Interface design, Usability (UX) or indeed anything closely related I want to bring your attention to Muriel Cooper. Muriel worked at MIT and pioneered many aspects of our thinking of information technology.

Visible Language Workshop, published in 1975, was an exploration of user interfaces and how we interact with information on a computer. Muriel coined the phrase “Information Landscapes, not Highways”.

As I said, for anyone getting into this topic I stronger urge you to go back over 30 years to the roots of UI and UX, because, frankly put Muriel Cooper is the beginning.
